The temperature is rising, and turning on the oven is the last thing I want to do. Thankfully, a wealth of no-bake recipes comes to the rescue, allowing for delicious desserts even when it’s too hot to bake.

There’s something uniquely delightful about no-bake desserts featuring Oreos. Oreo pie, Oreo truffles, and even peanut butter Oreo ice cream are all irresistible options! Today, let’s add the simple and delectable Oreo fluff to that list and keep the Oreo excitement alive.

What is Oreo fluff?

We Midwesterners have a love affair with “fluff” salads. Though these desserts are far from traditional salads, like a strawberry spinach salad, they receive their names for their light and fluffy texture. Fluff is a nostalgic treat made with pudding and/or cream cheese mixed with whipped topping, resulting in a dessert that lives up to its name.

The variations of fluff are endless. I have fond memories of enjoying pineapple fluff, orange fluff, and cranberry fluff at family gatherings. Another beloved recipe is Watergate salad, often known as pistachio fluff or “green stuff.” This Oreo fluff is a decadent chocolate version, blending chocolate pudding, cream cheese, crushed Oreos, and optional mini marshmallows. It’s easy to whip up and, being a no-bake treat, makes it perfect for summer!

How to make Oreo fluff

Fluff recipes are incredibly simple and perfect for kids to help make. My children absolutely love whipping up this Oreo fluff with me!

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • 8 ounces room-temperature cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (3.4-ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3/4 cup 2% or whole milk
  • 1 (8-ounce) container thawed whipped topping
  • 12 coarsely crushed Oreo cookies
  • ½ cup mini marshmallows (optional)

Make this recipe:

Start by using a mixer to beat the cream cheese for 3 minutes, until it’s incredibly smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl, then add the powdered sugar and vanilla, beating for another 3 minutes.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk. Allow it to sit for a few minutes to thicken, then incorporate the pudding into the cream cheese mixture, ensuring to scrape down the sides so everything is mixed thoroughly.

Next, fold in the thawed whipped topping, followed by the crushed Oreos and mini marshmallows. Cover and let chill for 2-3 hours before serving.

Recipe substitutions

This rendition of Oreo fluff boasts an extra chocolatey flavor thanks to the chocolate pudding, but feel free to mix it up! Using instant Oreo pudding will give it a delightful cookies-and-cream twist. Alternatively, vanilla pudding or cheesecake pudding mixes can also work well. You could even try Vanilla pudding with Golden Oreos for a chocolate-free option or experiment with lemon Oreos and lemon pudding for a refreshing spring variation!

Storage tips

Store any leftover Oreo fluff in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The Oreos will soften over time, but rest assured, it will still be delicious.
