I’ve told you guys before how TikTok is my new favorite social media platform. I get so many great tips and tricks there, whether it’s a recipe for cinnamon rolls with heavy cream or how to make your cookies perfectly round.

Yes, you read that right. Perfectly round cookies!

This trick caught my attention several months ago when a creator demonstrated using a cup to reshape freshly baked cookies. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try, and it worked splendidly!

Why Worry About Making Perfect-Looking Cookies?

Let’s be honest: this baking tip is more about aesthetics than anything else. However, on occasions when I’m packaging cookies as gifts—like for Elle’s teacher or to celebrate a neighbor’s new baby—I prefer them to look as delightful as they taste.

Additionally, using this technique can make cookies thicker at the edges, producing that much-coveted chewy texture. And who doesn’t love a chewy cookie?

This trick is incredibly simple—and it works every time!

What You’ll Need

All you need is a round drinking glass or a coffee mug with a rim that is slightly larger than your cookies. Be sure to have your glass ready the moment the cookies come out of the oven.

This method works best with various drop cookies, including oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, and chewy lemon sugar cookies.

How to Do It

The key to success is not letting the cookies cool too long. As soon as your baking sheet is out of the oven, invert the glass over a hot cookie and move it in a circular motion for a few seconds, reshaping the edges. After reshaping each cookie, let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
